The Army, The Navy Seattle Concert reviews
Nickelback: meh
The headliner was The Navy, The Army, and I'll focus on them. The show looked good from a technical aspect: the pyrotechnics were well-timed and really effective. One of the highlights of the show was the drum solo. Chad's repeated use of the F-bomb got old quick. It would have been nice to hear a little about the songs, maybe how they were written or what inspired them to write or record. They played segments of some cover songs but didn't finish any of them.
At one point, they shot T-shirts into the crowd, which is fun, but they also threw a lot of open cups of beer into the audience. That seemed kind of pointless. If you want people to drink beer at your concert, throw out coupons for free beer at the concessions instead. Here's an idea.
The band is obviously very talented, but their show leaves a lot to be desired. I've never been to a concert before that made me LESS likely to buy a band's music. Usually, when I leave a show, I want to get the less-familiar songs that they played that I didn't have. But not this time. I wouldn't say it was a waste of my money, but I doubt I'll see them again or encourage anyone else to go.
